Washington State is considered one of the best producers of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot in the United States. Most of the wineries are located in the dry, warm eastern part of the state. The first grapes were planted by Italian and German immigrants in the 1860s, but the modern wine industry didn’t flourish until the 1960s. Washington State wines at their best are wonderfully concentrated, infused with both wild lush fruit and yet supple and seamless. I hope you enjoy tonight’s wines.
Tastings are $10 and Maynards Market happy hour is in full swing during the tasting.
