About the artist:
Devy Wolff was born in Bucharest, Romania where he studied fine arts at Bucharest's Creation House and art history at Popular Academy of Art. At that time he participated in a large art mural project. He left Bucharest for Israel where he worked on architecture models and graphic design. He built stage sets for Tel Aviv's Habima National Theater and for movie productions. Later, Devy moved to New York City and attended The Art Students League of NY painting class taught by Will Barnett. After this training, he worked in production at Krantz Animation Studio in NYC on the «Spiderman» TV cartoon series. Later, he collaborated with Romanian-born artist Mihai Popa in NYC, developing conceptual integral art that resulted in the creation of models of space cities, a floating ocean habitat for humans, and an earth-based Megalopolis as a city of the future, as well as creating functional art design and sculptures in wood and metal.
Devy exhibited his art work in Romania, Israel, Soho NYC, East Hampton NY and Montreal, Canada. Recently one of his works has become part of a private collection in Bern, Switzerland. He has been a resident of Tucson, Arizona since 1998. In 2017, his retrospective, «New York (1968-1998)» was displayed at the Joel D Valdez Main Library.
