!!!A Burger Record Extravaganza!!!
Scott Yoder (SEA)
From starting out with the noisy garage pop of his former band The Pharmacy to playing as a backing musician for Kimya Dawson Scott Yoder has developed his own unique sound that could be compared to acts that he has performed with including Fleet Foxes, Smith Westerns, Black Lips & Kevin Morby. As a solo musician he further evolved his sound into fronting an electrified & theatrical band of glammy freaks across the US & Europe. His first LP under his own name “Looking Back In Blue” was released to critical acclaim in March 2016. “Lyrically impressive songs & melodies drive this album” (Surviving the Golden Age) “No matter what the sound the songwriting remains the strongest part of Scott’s work” (Clunk Magazine).
Telephone Lovers (LA)
Disconnected has teamed up with Burger Records for this double A side 7" banger from the harbingers of the new elite, conjuring up all the maestros of Powerpop ala Exploding Hearts, Dwight Tilley, Nick Lowe, Paul Collins Beat, 20/20, Flamin' Groovies, etc.
Like Buddhist monks seeking equilibrium, Bisbee darlings The Exbats teeter between bubblegum pop and slashing garage rock riffage. With unabashed candor too often conditioned out by adulthood, «Mr. Bucky» explores adolescent lust. Singer/drummer Inez McClain has the moxie to deliver the knockout punch. «I wanna fuck Mr. Bucky/And you do too/Don't lie it wouldn't be yucky at all...» And, apparently grandma, the neighbors and the dog all wanna have a go at Mr. Bucky. Fiendishly rad.
