Because it’s time to break the silence collectively.
Because it’s time to shine the light on this dark and long concealed subject.
It’s time to take back our power and
move this conversation from online to in-person community.
It’s time to heal.
Sexual Violence Thrives in Darkness and Secrecy.
We are going to:
SHINE THE LIGHT ON IT AND BREAK THE SILENCE.
To break free from its chains individually, and as a community
so that this can be the beginning of the end of it nationally and worldwide.
Because we didn’t have a choice then, BUT WE DO HAVE ONE NOW.
Because we Heal Together in Community
With Each Other, Not in Isolation.
We have created a place where a community of survivors can come together and break the myths that hold this trauma in place.
THIS IS A PLACE WHERE:
— You’ll feel safe and cared for.
— You’ll be heard, understood and believed.
— You are not alone anymore.
— You are not the “broken one” in the room.
— Where the people around you will understand you, and you them.
— Where in community you will move from knowing intellectually to truly experiencing the truth of the fact that there is nothing wrong with you.
— You can let go of the shame that never should have been yours to begin with.
Because it’s time to open the discussion wide enough that it never closes again.
So that we can hand our children a very different world than the one that exists today.
So that in a generation from now no one else will need to say “Me Too”.
— You will not be asked or forced to share your story with anyone. We will allow you your privacy and space.
— No one will ask you to remember what happened to you.
You do what you need to do for you, on your timeline.
— No one will ask you to or insinuate that you should forgive anyone. That is your option.
— No one will ask you to do anything you don’t want to do.
We’ll have a private quiet room to retreat into if you need down time.
